Every day counts! Logo    Bristol's school attendance website

Parents

Did you know:
Missing 5 days of every term, every year is the same as missing 1 whole school year!*

School attendance is important:

  • To keep up with school-work and make friends.
  • To get the best possible start in life and make the best of opportunities available
  • Because employers and colleges look at attendance before offering places.
  • Because school attendance is required by law ,
  • Because learning makes a difference to your child's future.

Missing school to go shopping, for a birthday or holiday may seem a good idea but during that time:

  • Your son or daughter has missed out on learning.
  • Catching up with work and friends may be difficult.

Did you know:
90% attendance may seem positive but it means missing 1 HALF DAY A WEEK. This equals A WHOLE HALF YEAR of secondary education!

*based on a 6 term year
