- Avoid taking your son or daughter on holiday in term time.
- By law parents do not have the right to take their child out of school for holidays, and schools do not have to give permission.
- Missing school may affect your child's college or employment application.
- Young people taken out of school struggle to catch up on work. Two weeks off school is equal to 50 hours of learning.

Taking holidays in school holidays will help your son or daughter achieve good attendance. The council recognises this is often expensive so have teamed up with Thomas Cook to offer up to 10% discount! This is an average saving of over £100 on a holiday for four!
